The Winter 2023 magazine is live! We’re so excited to launch our first publication under new ownership and to share these entrepreneurs’ amazing stories with you. We also get to cover some new topics this winter, some of which you might not have seen before.
In addition to our two featured artisans, this issue also explores the Etsy Trend Report, the Gift Biz Unwrapped Podcast, and how to sell clothing on a new sales platform called Depop.
We have found that doing features on Instagram is an amazing tool for us to give attention to these beautiful women while also boosting our social media presence and gaining followers.
Meghan MacGregor
When Meghan began creating natural skincare products she found herself walking into an industry rife with unhealthy chemical products and an even more damaging outlook on the women’s beauty and aging. This negative attitude towards the natural aging of women’s bodies didn’t sit right with her, so Meghan began to find ways to empower women to be themselves and age with confidence. She found she was able to build a community through her business and social media presence on Instagram, growing her business and giving a voice to powerful and amazing women from all walks of life.
“It was important to include everyone, not just in how I formulated my products, but also in how I marketed them.“
-Meghan MacGregor @cosmicskincareco
I am ever asking myself: Is there something specific I need to work on to get to the next level? How am I doing in my artistic growth? What can I do to improve my skill?
Camille Barnes
Our second featured seller, Camille, tells the story of how she built her business as a fine artist. We are so honored to have Camille speak on the vulnerabilities of her childhood, her difficulty finding a sense of identity and place in an adopted family who just didn’t connect to art the way she did. In her article, she gives her first hand advice on how to break into the world of fine arts. She also explains how developing her business as a portraitist and gallery artist led to her finding true confidence in her identity as an artist.
“Artistry is a journey that is ongoing in many ways. In spite of the challenges, you’ll find that it changes you, builds you up, along the way. When I started my journey as an artist I felt isolated and abandoned. Now, after doing this for many years, I find myself so proud of my accomplishments and focused on improving my skill for my future works.“
