The August magazine is live! We really enjoyed the magazine theme this month because our featured seller talked about how she grew her brand by collaborating with other businesses (especially local ones). Collaborations are a quick, fun, and easy way to build up a following without spending a ton of money and time on advertisements. And collaborations don’t just have to be about giveaways or joint pop-up shops. As Carley from @parcelisland mentions, joining in on educational events and teaching others some of the skills you’ve learned is also a wonderful way to get more exposure and build relationships at the same time. “I saw the true value in working with those around me…” -Carley
Our first featured seller, Carley, designs adorable greeting cards and she’s been very intentional with how she set up and runs her business. First, she started out mostly selling digital or dropship cards to keep her inventory and costs low. Then, she began collaborating with all sorts of other artists and businesses to grow her audience and find new sources for sales. Read her story to learn how she did it!
“My enamel pin ended up driving traffic towards the event! Many guests stated they came specifically for the pin. It was an amazing way to see how by partnering on a local level, you can help grow each other!”
– Carley Hussain @parcelisland
“I thought it was maybe possible to turn my passion into a business.” – Eléonore
Our second featured seller, Eléonore, caught our attention in her application because she mentioned how long she’s been blogging for business. It’s no secret that we believe blogging is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your business, and it definitely worked for Eléonore! Read her story to learn what she blogs about, how often she writes, and how she’s grown her business!
“I blogged for almost 4 years before launching my business and it helped me a lot. I wrote articles about what I did, about my new activities, new business, and occasionally presented new product launches to tell the story about each new product.”
– Eléonore Estadieu @lafourmiele
“Finding her niche and understanding how to successfully run a business is rarely easy for any artist.” – Dawn
As most sellers have experienced, Dawn had a lot of ups and downs with starting and running a business of her own, but her heart carried her through them all, even when her jewelry was stolen from a gallery! Open up the August magazine to read about her journey!
“I had 4 out of 5 Art Festivals reject me one summer and had 60 pieces of jewelry stolen out of a gallery the same year. I was filled with doubt, concern, and financial questions.”
– Dawn Hemstreet @hawkhummingbirdmoon
