Well, I’ve done it! I’ve officially stepped out of my introvert bubble and been interviewed on a Podcast with Nikita Williams from Crafted to Thrive! Over the years I’ve politely turned down all interview and video opportunities with excuses about being too busy… But really, I was just terrified to do them. I’ve never enjoyed being in front of people and nearly flunked all of my speech classes in high school and college. Ha!
For the last year, I’ve felt like it was time to stop letting introversion hold me back. I knew if I just took the first step, that eventually I’d figure out what it is that people enjoy about talking on Podcasts and being more “visible.” As soon as I’d made the decision to step in front of the camera again, Nikita magically appeared in my life. Her energy, kindness, and business insights stood out to me right away and we immediately started making plans for collaborations between our businesses. The first step? I was going to be on her podcast! And even though my nerves threatened to eat me alive before the interview, I had FUN! I was shocked. What a great way to kick off 2021!
Here’s a peek at what’s in this interview:
- My 16-year entrepreneurial journey
- How the Handmade Seller magazine helped prepare me to launch a successful Etsy business
- Getting to 2,000 Instagram followers (with a new account) from October 3rd – January 15th
- Making $6,000 on Etsy between October 20th – January 15th
- How I did it all with just $198 in Instagram ads
It’s important to note that I had my numbers slightly wrong in the Podcast interview due to not being able to access my ad data prior. I spent $198 on Instagram ads, rather than the $240 mentioned in the interview. I also said in the interview that I made 6,000 sales, but what I meant to say was that I made $6,000 IN sales. Oops! 🙂
