The March magazine is live!
We’ve made some exciting changes in this magazine issue! First, we’ve added even more business stories and are planning to add more in the future! In addition to that, we’ve started a new section that we’ve been dying to do since we launched the magazine: a “funnies” section! So many odd, funny, crazy and ironic things happen all the time in business, why not share a laugh about them?? If you have a short story to share about something that’s happened to your business, click here to tell us all about it and it could end up being published in the next magazine issue!
Now, let’s introduce one of our featured sellers, Lakia from 1133 Candles! She is a self-taught chandler and she has a story a lot of us can probably identify with. The perfect idea for her current business didn’t come until she let an old idea go. In her case, the “old idea” was her first business that she was holding onto long after it was no longer a fit for her. It’s so easy to get stuck in trying to make something work rather than pivoting and searching for a new, fresh solution. We love how Lakia’s story transformed once she embraced change!
“It was a tough decision, but closing the baking business was the right choice. I cried because it was the first business I had owned and I had so many questions about what to do next. In the next few months, I spent a lot of time praying, recovering from feeling like a failure, resting, and nurturing my family.”

Our other featured seller, Priya from KayaSoaps, started a soap business at home once her kids moved out. After persistently pursuing business growth for a while, they were contacted by Etsy Wholesale which transformed their whole company and got them into selling soap via wholesale avenues with large, consistent monthly orders.
“Some wholesalers have a fixed number of products that they want shipped out each month. With fixed, monthly orders comes a guarantee of future work. It’s easier to pre-plan the supplies and labor with these kinds of accounts and the best part is that hired help can work year-round regardless of the season.”
