Have you read the April magazine yet?
Mika Harmony, a wonderful watercolor artist who focuses on “creating calm and happy with vibrant colors” was one of our featured sellers this month and she shared her inspiring story of getting through a fire evacuation while trying to fill the largest order she’d ever received for her business. Her story is powerful because she was able to keep herself focused on creativity rather than worrying over the safety of her home and possessions (including years of artwork). We’re so excited to feature her story because dealing with crisis and getting through emotional situations is something that every business owner needs to master, and this isn’t the first thing she’s had to face! Mika has been a full-time artist since 2013—a major accomplishment in itself and one that required her to face many self-doubts. Find out how she’s learned to be flexible and adapt with everything that’s come her way in the April magazine!
Mika Harmony —
“That first night, my fiancé Niko and I had to evacuate at 10pm. It was such an overwhelming and scary feeling to be loading your life in a backpack and into your car as embers and ash are falling from the sky above your head.I grabbed whatever supplies I could find and my envelope of seahorse stickers.
Going to sleep not knowing if your house is going to be standing, if your life’s work of creativity would still be there (so many paintings and supplies), if your treasured mementos would be okay, or even if your taxes from prior years would be spared….was very strange.
