“It’s funny how certain events in our life that appear to be a burden often become a blessing in disguise and the eventual muse for our life’s work. I posted a few pictures of my products on Facebook and was immediately contacted by friends and family asking if they could try my products. Before long, giving away the candles became pricey, so I decided to create an informal Etsy shop. Within a few weeks, I was receiving purchases from individuals who I did not know and became intrigued with the idea that perhaps I was onto something. Hearing positive feedback about my products from strangers who also had some form of mental illness or chronic stress fueled my passion for helping those like myself. I knew I owed it to them and to myself to consider taking what I was doing more seriously. After months of researching SEO, basic business practices, marketing, and advertising, the importance of targeted marketing and building upon my product line, Wicked Calm Candles, was formally launched in February of 2017.”
