Fall is finally here and, with it, a whole ‘cornucopia’ of awesome handmade products are popping up everywhere. As a handmade seller, fall marks the season of opportunity for Christmas gifts, handmade sweaters, self-care products, and more.
But, with more and more small businesses popping up every season, how can a handmade seller actually stand out and create products that are more likely to resonate with buyers than others? This is the goal of this trending list. Below are five popular Etsy fall items along with ways to make them unique and stand out. Let this snuggle, spooky season of crafting begin!
1.) Succulent Pumpkins to Spiff up Your Fall Festivities
Pumpkin crafts are always huge during the fall season on Etsy, but this succulent pumpkin trend takes it one step further. By creating cute pumpkin succulent holders, you can connect not just with fall fanatics but plant parents as well. To set yourself apart even more from the others using this trend, try adding dried putka pods to your succulent bouquet on top since they look exactly like tiny pumpkins and add something special to your product.
Right now, these succulent pumpkins sell on Etsy for $30-$50 (we personally think the price should be in the higher range) so they are definitely worth the effort of looking into. Similarly, considering the fact that almost all of the supplies to make them only come out to less than half that price, it’s a very profitable choice for your fall inventory too.
2.) Contemporary Pumpkin Wreaths
It’s no secret that wreaths are always a trending item during the holiday season and this year we’re seeing sellers enter into a new style that’s less about vibrant ribbons and patterns and more about neutral tones, minimal adornments, and a contemporary style. We see this becoming a bigger trend because they go with any home decor! And since wreaths sell for between $60 – 200 on Etsy (again, we firmly believe you should price in the higher range), these are a great and profitable addition to any Etsy shop.
3.) Earrings That Fit the Fall ‘Spirit’
Simple ghost earrings have been a fall trend for years now, but there are still several ways to stand out despite this. For instance, adding buttcheeks to the back of your ghosts like this clothing brand did adds something funny and unique to them and will help them sell much quicker.
You can also play into puns such as putting ghost sheets on bees and calling them ‘boo bees’ which are currently selling for nearly double the price of regular ghost earrings on Etsy. In all honesty, any cute inanimate object with a ghost sheet on it is sure to sell for more and faster than a simple pair of ghost earrings but also align with this traditional trend nonetheless.
4.) Harvest Moon Necklaces
Another unique product trending this year is the harvest moon necklace. By using photos of the harvest moon and adding them to necklaces using resin, handmade sellers on Etsy have been making roughly $10-$15 each for supplies that only cost them roughly $3-$5.
To add something special to your harvest moon necklace, try adding glow-in-the-dark powder to your resin so it will light up in the dark. You can also make earrings and bracelets using the same method to switch it up and stand out.
5.) Fabric Pumpkin Sets
In case you haven’t noticed, pumpkins are always a go-to item for fall decor and you can usually find all kinds of crochet, ceramic, or fabric pumpkins on Etsy. But we’re particularly drawn towards the sets that allow you to buy individual pumpkins and create your own look! This is a great way to get multiple orders from one customer.
While there are so many more Etsy fall trends to consider, these five can help you get started and give you an idea of ways to make all of these products your own. 🙂
